The Piggy Year is here!

Reunion Nite
1st stop was MaMa's house of course, but before anything else, lets take a trip down memory lane!

CNY 2006

2007, what a difference a year makes!

Watching intently while MaMa mixed the ingredients for Lo Hei

Next stop was Grand Uncle Allan's house where it was Lo Hei part 2! This year i had my first real encounter with this particular tradition of tossing food up into the air cos i could finally hold my own, together with the adults at the dining table!

Hey why has everyone stopped tossing?
Just when i was getting the hang of it!!

It was great fun wielding chopsticks...

...and force feeding Por Por and Gong Gong!

Reunion nite is definitely not complete without the requisite round of mahjong back at Mama's house after all the eating is over. This year Xiang Gor Gor and me had a go at the table while the adults were taking their toilet break!

Wah...wat lousy tiles...sheesh...

CNY Day 1
Our family is pretty small so there weren't many places to visit today. 1st stop on the agenda was Grand Aunty Selina's place for lunch. I wasnt feeling too good as i was nursing a sniffle and Mummy had given me the head spinning flu medicine so it didnt take a genius to deduce that i wasnt in the best of spirits.

Drugged and sleepy...

Mummy didnt take any more fotos cos i was whining and screaming my head off so we proceeded to Mama's house. I perked up slightly when i was given a couple more ang pows to add to my megre collection.

I finally surrendered to the medicine and knocked out in Mummy's arms while the adults went visiting another distant relative. When i awoke, we were in Tai Por's house, where the whole clan gathered every chinese new year.

Feeling decidedly much better, i was raring to go! What better way to burn my energy than chasing YiYi all over the house? We had great fun playing hide and seek and snacking non stop while an uncle regaled Daddy, Mummy and all their cousins with countless spooky tales. Haha!

I love playing with YiYi!

CNY Day 2

Having seen everyone yesterday, we spent a lazy day at home today. Eventually at evening time, Mummy decided that she had had enough of inactivity and buggered Daddy to take us to the Esplanade to catch the cny fireworks. We managed to grab a choice spot at Glutton's bay where we had front row seats to the fireworks. I was over the moon as i sat atop daddy's shoulders watching the spectacle.

We braved the throngs of people at the Esplanade Park next, cos the river hongbao was there and there were stalls and performances and lanterns. It was such a treat; there were simply so many things for me to see! How exciting!

CNY Day 3

Daddy and Mummy met up with Uncle Boon, Aunty Wanling and Uncle Axl for lunch today. After stuffing ourselves at the HK cafe in siglap, we headed off to Aunty Jen's house to meet up with the ODAC gang.

As usual, Mummy was preoccupied with keeping an eye on me and Daddy was busy shoveling new year goodies into his mouth so minimal fotos were taken. What a pity! I was in my element, entertaining all the Aunties and Uncles by singing and dancing non stop!

Mummy's cronies, who climbed the highest mountains and swam the deepest seas with her

Cny wouldnt be complete if Mummy and Daddy's crazy hall friends didnt bring the house down together. And they did just that at Uncle Teng Chee's house this year!

Besides tossing food, i also learnt how to gamble proficiently

Mummy with her hall cronies while i was busy...

....peeing on daddy's pants! Muahaha!

Kara i noe you're sleepy but let me make a monkey face to cheer you up!

Yeah that's the way!

A Shutterbug's Dream

Daddy was testing out his new camera gadget and what better subject for him to hone his skills on but little ol me?

My best sour pickle faces!

And look at my bulging biceps!

And this is tribute to all Mummy and Daddy's Hall friends!

Cousin Lendall's birthday party

It's Lendall's 2nd birthday today and we all trooped down to Gymboree at Serangoon Gardens to celebrate it with him.
I was fast asleep when we arrived and Mummy let me snooze away till the games were in full swing before waking me. She was apprehensive and Daddy was totally for letting the sleeping dog, aka me, lie; cos they were afraid that I would be off the charts of my cranky-o-meter if I was to be awoken prematurely.
Nevertheless brave Mummy ventured to wake me as she didnt want me to miss out on all the action.

Half hearted attempt to play while still groggy

Should i let it rip???

Okie Im awake now, the program better be good okie?

No one could get a decent picture of the 3 cousins!

Check out Lendall in his oh-so-cool Bob the Builder outfit!

And this is his sensational cake!

Lemme go Daddy! I want to have a piece of Bob the Builder!

Ahhh gratification!

And Daddy has to go for the spanner...Sigh...

School Picnic!

It was a breezy afternoon that was perfect for a picnic at the Botanic Gardens. And what a picnic it was! The teachers had instructed everyone to bring some food so there was a HUGE spread to share!
Kara and I quickly proceeded to plonk our butts on the mat and frantically stuffed our faces with all the wonderful grub! While Aaron, ever the gentleman, sat quietly with Aunty Stephy and observed the fracas all around us. Hey hello?? Wake up your idea Aaron! Look at all the food!!!

I know girls are supposed to be dainty but who cares?!

Kara..Orm arm..any more..yum...grapes..yum..on your side?* gulp swallow*

Crunch..Er..They are..crackle..all..arm orm..in my..yum..mouth! mmmm...Oops!

Uncle Raymond, Aunty Yiling and Kirsten also joined us for the picnic cos we could invite friends to join us. Kara and I tried to show Kirsten how to stuff her face with food too but I almost choked on a sausage in the process...what an embarrassment! Sheesh...

Go beach, play sand!

20th Jan 2007
That was my constant refrain when i heard that Mummy had planned an outing to the beach with Gong Gong, Por Por and Yi Yi. Everyone was a little apprehensive and thought that we might have to cut short our outing cos the sky was rather ominous. Thankfully the skies held and we had a lovely day out!

I clung to Yi Yi for dear life when we first arrived, cos i simply hate the feeling of sand between my toes.

Here Gong Gong, you can have my spade. Ill just hang onto Yi Yi!!

Nevertheless, my overwhelming desire to get my hands onto the sand toys overtook all other discomforts and i gamely joined Gong Gong and Yi Yi in an excavation adventure!

I soon forgot about the sand between my toes!

Heartwarming moment of me with Gong Gong!

We played with bubbles, flew my kite, snacked non stop and i even buried Gong Gong's leg! I had so much fun!

Oops i didnt realise that i had been squatting down for the past half and hour. My first taste of pins and needles! Arrrrrgh!!!

Finally can stand straight again...phew!

Family portrait - pity my face is buried in a papaya...

Im bushed Gong Gong...A goodnite kiss and im off for my nap!

It was simply divine to take a nap outdoors, with the cool breeze on my face. I slept so soundly that Mummy had time to devour a couple of chapters of her novel! Even Yi Yi and Gong Gong joined in for awhile! Hehe...

I slept for 1.5 hours and I think i could have slept for another hour or two if not for Mummy rudely waking me up cos the skies had finally opened. More beach outings Mummy!!

A jaunt to Jumbo

Mummy has been rather busy to recount my adventures here and due to persistant bugging from my ardent fans, she has finally acquiesced and is thus staying up at 2am to update my blog. Patience patience!!

14th Jan 2007
Aunty angie had a discount voucher to make use of and our greedy parents needed no further persuasion to head out to Jumbo for a night of sumptious seafood! Us tots played together happily while the adults gorged themselves silly! They sure do have similar tastes for good grub!

Our favourite game - Ring around the rosies! We can go at it forever!
After dinner, we were ushered to a playroom where we went wild with excitement. It was great fun to have a whole playground all to ourselves! I was so excited that when i took my first slide, I managed a half somersault down at the same time! Mummy was horrified but i was none the worse for wear, proceeding to run around like a maniac the next second!

We had a blast!

Our mummies taking a breather while our daddies kept an eye on us

Aaron and i sharing a little moment...

...before everyone else muscled in on our little perch!

All too soon, it was time to go home. It ended in tears cos we couldnt bear to part with one another! Soon guys, till the next outing!

Kara's Coupe

13th january 2007
Aunty Evon bought a 2nd hand Coupe for Kara and since the seller's house is near ours, Mummy collected it for her. When i saw it in our car, i begged Mummy to bring it up to let me have a go at it. So voila! Here I am happily driving along the corridor outside our house.

I really made the most of it; running outside at every chance i had, considering i only had one day to play with it!

Ciao babes! Im off on a driving adventure!

You can bet i was pretty sad when we had to hand it over to Kara the next day. But its ok! I can always visit Kara to play with it, right buddy?

A Visit to Vivo

6th Jan 2007
We went down to VivoCity today to meet up with a couple of Daddy's ex colleagues. After a meeting of mixed emotions, which gave Daddy and Mummy lots of fodder to keep yakking about for hours...the content of which i shall not divulge, we proceeded to do a little shopping on our own.

We had great fun checking out the huge Daiso, and i ran amok touching all the little knick knacks!

See what we got up to in the store??

I simply lurve the big open spaces in the huge mall where i can run and run to my heart's content! yee ha!!

hey where are you going? who said you could touch my head??

Daddy? Mummy?

4th-5th Jan 2007
Daddy And Mummy unceremoniously dumped me at MaMa's house today and ran off for a secret rendezvous. This is where they went!

Nice view from the 42nd floor of the Swisshotel Stamford

I was pretty well behaved the whole day as Xiang Kor Kor was around to play with me. As soon as he trooped off for his nap, i realised Daddy and Mummy were gone and started to ask for them incessantly. My ongoing mantra was " Daddy, Mummy, come...Daddy, Mummy come..." to which MaMa had to constantly reply that they were either in the toilet, downstairs or outside. Gosh! Who was she kidding?? I KNEW they had run off without me!! Boohoo...

Daddy and Mummy having a nice peaceful dinner without me

Wah enjoying your satay eh?

Ill make sure you wont have any more peaceful meals after this! Hmph!

Thankfully, their conscience pricked at them, especially after hearing my pitiful begging for them to come back, so much so that they decided to fetch me from MaMa's house after dinner. Haha they fell for my devious ploy! It was actually all an act to get them to come get me! Muahaha...

See how ecstatic i am after succeeding?? hehe...

I then proceeded to explore every inch of the room

I had an extremely restful sleep on the super comfy bed which prompted me to remark emphatically the next day, "Wah nice bed!" Mummy and Daddy couldnt stop laughing when they heard me say that, i wonder why!

I had class the next day so it was a real treat to have Daddy come join us! Now he knows exactly what happens as i "terrorise" my teachers!

Getting ready for Art and Craft...eeeek am i supposed to touch that??!

Little Picasso hard at work

Snack time! Yummy!

And we're off to the playground

All in all it was a happy time spent together as a family and Daddy and Mummy weren't the least bit sorry they came back to get me, even if it was at the expense of their couple time. See what can i say? Im simply irresistable!
