Lounging in Langkawi

Daddy was having a business retreat in Langkawi so Mummy and I tagged along to make full use of the 5 star hotel's much anticipated facilities.
I was dressed in my outdoor clothes when i went to bed the night before. This was to facilitate Mummy hauling me out of bed with minimal fuss, as our flight was real early so we had to be at the airport at 6am.
They needn't have worried, i was cheerful and in high spirits throughout the journey there!

Wah a warm welcome with a pretty flower!

*Daydreaming* Im the future face of Vogue!

The first thing that i love to do once i step into any hote! Check out the telephone!!

Daddy's meeting was only scheduled to start on Monday so he was able to spend some time with us over the weekend. However there was nothing much to do on the island. Moreover, everything in the hotel was overpriced and underated. Imagine a measley club sandwich costing $35! Mummy could hardly stomach it...She was also bitterly disappointed becos she was looking forward to having a spa treatment here. But after looking at the frightfully inflated prices, she decided to bug Daddy for one back in Singapore instead, cos back home she can have 2 treatments for the prices quoted here!

Clowning around with Daddy in the lounge

This is the buggy that brought us around the hotel premises. I loved riding in it so much!

Posing in front of our lodge

Monday arrived and Daddy left us to our own defences. In the meantime, i made a new friend here! Her name is Laranya and she is the daughter of one of Daddy's colleagues. We hung out together for the next few days, and Mummy made a friend in Laranya's mummy too!

Prancing around in Laranya's room

Daddy was able to squeeze some time off on Wednesday so we headed out to the Oriental Village. It looks pretty quaint from the pictures but its actually nothing much too. Just a miserable little food court, some touristy souvenir shops and a fountain right in the middle of everything.

I love making new friends, i think i can be an ambassador when i grow up!

Wah a pretty fountain!

*gasp* How could you leave your "mark" here Daddy??!

I basically spent most of my time here butt naked cos Mummy was trying to toilet train me

She didnt want to start at home cos she was predicting an endless round of mopping. Here she didnt have to bother about stringent cleaning up, the housekeeping would take care of it!

And swimming, swimming and more swimming!

Showcasing my cute face! Mummy's fav foto of the trip

All shacked out and ready to KO after my swim

One last foto with my playmate, for the road!

And being my usual playful self while waiting to board our plane

I didnt understand the adults' incessant complaints about the place, i had a ball of a time! Any place is better than lounging around at home!!

The Piggy Year is here!

Reunion Nite
1st stop was MaMa's house of course, but before anything else, lets take a trip down memory lane!

CNY 2006

2007, what a difference a year makes!

Watching intently while MaMa mixed the ingredients for Lo Hei

Next stop was Grand Uncle Allan's house where it was Lo Hei part 2! This year i had my first real encounter with this particular tradition of tossing food up into the air cos i could finally hold my own, together with the adults at the dining table!

Hey why has everyone stopped tossing?
Just when i was getting the hang of it!!

It was great fun wielding chopsticks...

...and force feeding Por Por and Gong Gong!

Reunion nite is definitely not complete without the requisite round of mahjong back at Mama's house after all the eating is over. This year Xiang Gor Gor and me had a go at the table while the adults were taking their toilet break!

Wah...wat lousy tiles...sheesh...

CNY Day 1
Our family is pretty small so there weren't many places to visit today. 1st stop on the agenda was Grand Aunty Selina's place for lunch. I wasnt feeling too good as i was nursing a sniffle and Mummy had given me the head spinning flu medicine so it didnt take a genius to deduce that i wasnt in the best of spirits.

Drugged and sleepy...

Mummy didnt take any more fotos cos i was whining and screaming my head off so we proceeded to Mama's house. I perked up slightly when i was given a couple more ang pows to add to my megre collection.

I finally surrendered to the medicine and knocked out in Mummy's arms while the adults went visiting another distant relative. When i awoke, we were in Tai Por's house, where the whole clan gathered every chinese new year.

Feeling decidedly much better, i was raring to go! What better way to burn my energy than chasing YiYi all over the house? We had great fun playing hide and seek and snacking non stop while an uncle regaled Daddy, Mummy and all their cousins with countless spooky tales. Haha!

I love playing with YiYi!

CNY Day 2

Having seen everyone yesterday, we spent a lazy day at home today. Eventually at evening time, Mummy decided that she had had enough of inactivity and buggered Daddy to take us to the Esplanade to catch the cny fireworks. We managed to grab a choice spot at Glutton's bay where we had front row seats to the fireworks. I was over the moon as i sat atop daddy's shoulders watching the spectacle.

We braved the throngs of people at the Esplanade Park next, cos the river hongbao was there and there were stalls and performances and lanterns. It was such a treat; there were simply so many things for me to see! How exciting!

CNY Day 3

Daddy and Mummy met up with Uncle Boon, Aunty Wanling and Uncle Axl for lunch today. After stuffing ourselves at the HK cafe in siglap, we headed off to Aunty Jen's house to meet up with the ODAC gang.

As usual, Mummy was preoccupied with keeping an eye on me and Daddy was busy shoveling new year goodies into his mouth so minimal fotos were taken. What a pity! I was in my element, entertaining all the Aunties and Uncles by singing and dancing non stop!

Mummy's cronies, who climbed the highest mountains and swam the deepest seas with her

Cny wouldnt be complete if Mummy and Daddy's crazy hall friends didnt bring the house down together. And they did just that at Uncle Teng Chee's house this year!

Besides tossing food, i also learnt how to gamble proficiently

Mummy with her hall cronies while i was busy...

....peeing on daddy's pants! Muahaha!

Here's Kara and I monkeying around in a cab after class! We were all decked out in our chinese new year costumes because there was a cny party in school!

Hey Kara you're tickling me! Hehe...

Smile for the camera!

Kara i noe you're sleepy but let me make a monkey face to cheer you up!

Yeah that's the way!

Best buddies forever!

A Shutterbug's Dream

Daddy was testing out his new camera gadget and what better subject for him to hone his skills on but little ol me?

My best sour pickle faces!

And look at my bulging biceps!

And this is tribute to all Mummy and Daddy's Hall friends!

AYE YO BRUDDER SISTA!

Cousin Lendall's birthday party

It's Lendall's 2nd birthday today and we all trooped down to Gymboree at Serangoon Gardens to celebrate it with him.
I was fast asleep when we arrived and Mummy let me snooze away till the games were in full swing before waking me. She was apprehensive and Daddy was totally for letting the sleeping dog, aka me, lie; cos they were afraid that I would be off the charts of my cranky-o-meter if I was to be awoken prematurely.
Nevertheless brave Mummy ventured to wake me as she didnt want me to miss out on all the action.

Half hearted attempt to play while still groggy

Should i let it rip???

Okie Im awake now, the program better be good okie?

No one could get a decent picture of the 3 cousins!

Check out Lendall in his oh-so-cool Bob the Builder outfit!

And this is his sensational cake!

Lemme go Daddy! I want to have a piece of Bob the Builder!

Ahhh gratification!

And Daddy has to go for the spanner...Sigh...

School Picnic!

It was a breezy afternoon that was perfect for a picnic at the Botanic Gardens. And what a picnic it was! The teachers had instructed everyone to bring some food so there was a HUGE spread to share!
Kara and I quickly proceeded to plonk our butts on the mat and frantically stuffed our faces with all the wonderful grub! While Aaron, ever the gentleman, sat quietly with Aunty Stephy and observed the fracas all around us. Hey hello?? Wake up your idea Aaron! Look at all the food!!!

I know girls are supposed to be dainty but who cares?!

Kara..Orm arm..any more..yum...grapes..yum..on your side?* gulp swallow*

Crunch..Er..They are..crackle..all..arm orm..in my..yum..mouth! mmmm...Oops!

Uncle Raymond, Aunty Yiling and Kirsten also joined us for the picnic cos we could invite friends to join us. Kara and I tried to show Kirsten how to stuff her face with food too but I almost choked on a sausage in the process...what an embarrassment! Sheesh...

Go beach, play sand!

20th Jan 2007
That was my constant refrain when i heard that Mummy had planned an outing to the beach with Gong Gong, Por Por and Yi Yi. Everyone was a little apprehensive and thought that we might have to cut short our outing cos the sky was rather ominous. Thankfully the skies held and we had a lovely day out!

I clung to Yi Yi for dear life when we first arrived, cos i simply hate the feeling of sand between my toes.

Here Gong Gong, you can have my spade. Ill just hang onto Yi Yi!!

Nevertheless, my overwhelming desire to get my hands onto the sand toys overtook all other discomforts and i gamely joined Gong Gong and Yi Yi in an excavation adventure!

I soon forgot about the sand between my toes!

Heartwarming moment of me with Gong Gong!

We played with bubbles, flew my kite, snacked non stop and i even buried Gong Gong's leg! I had so much fun!

Oops i didnt realise that i had been squatting down for the past half and hour. My first taste of pins and needles! Arrrrrgh!!!

Finally can stand straight again...phew!

Family portrait - pity my face is buried in a papaya...

Im bushed Gong Gong...A goodnite kiss and im off for my nap!

It was simply divine to take a nap outdoors, with the cool breeze on my face. I slept so soundly that Mummy had time to devour a couple of chapters of her novel! Even Yi Yi and Gong Gong joined in for awhile! Hehe...

I slept for 1.5 hours and I think i could have slept for another hour or two if not for Mummy rudely waking me up cos the skies had finally opened. More beach outings Mummy!!
