HFMD again!!

Daddy left on a biz trip last night and i cried buckets as he left the house. I was so upset that i couldnt stop wailing and even cried myself to sleep.

This morning, i woke up complaining of dizziness and even vomitted once. Mummy thought i simply had a rough night and even tried to cajole me to go to school (?!!)

She finally relented when i vomitted again and started to develop a fever. I also could not stomach anything, which was RARE as i usually had milk and cornflakes, followed by bread and cheese or bananas or wathever i could lay my hands on...for breakfast.

And so we set off for the doctor's all the same, just to get me checked out. Mummy didnt think it was anything serious though, probably just a minor stomach bug that would clear within a day or so.

After a check by the doctor, i was diagnosed to be suffering from a viral infection and i was to be given some med and ordered lotsa rest. However while we were waiting for my medicine, Mummy noticed some red spots on my hands and feet.

Her worst fears were confirmed when a 2nd check by the doctor verified that i had contracted the dreaded HFMD.

What?? HFMD again?! But but what about my Children's Day Carnival in school tomorrow??

I could literally see alarm bells ringing in Mummy's head, cos the last time i was down with HFMD, things were really bad. I couldnt eat anything at all (Mummy had to freeze sugar cane juice for me to suck), had a raging fever that wouldnt abate and basically cried hysterically almost the entire day. (I was only 18mths old then)

What more so now that there's Baby in the house, im sure she was terribly afraid that i would have had already infected him with it.

Once we reached home, i was isolated in Mummy's room and Baby was confined downstairs. Over the next 4 days, i spent all my time within these 4 walls, and i almost went out of my mind.

Bored out of my skull

Thankfully, my fever subsided within a day and my voracious appetite was back to normal by nightfall.

I was begging Mummy to let me go to school the next day cos there was a huge carnival planned for us but she kept saying that i was still unwell and that i would pass the germs to my friends.

But i feel ok!! I could eat and sleep and the 2 puny ulcers in my mouth didnt bother me at all.

Alas, Mummy wouldnt waver and so i was imprisoned in her room for the next few days, even though i felt perfectly fine. The only signs of HFMD were faint spots on my feet and one spot on my hand.

I was sooooo disappointed to miss the carnival in school. Hmph!

Mummy thought the worst was over on the 5th day and i was allowed back downstairs. However, that day Baby Bone came down with a high fever.

Sigh...so i did infect him after all.

So much for imprisoning me!!!

Here he is at the doc's office

Staying active in Sept!

We got up to all sorts of exciting activities during the September one week break.

No holiday is complete without a visit to an indoor playground, so here we are at Polliwogs again!

Wheeeee! Ive figured out how to get down the slide all by myself!

Shhhhh im hiding...waiting to jump out at baby

The highlight this time was the huge outdoor bouncy castle. It was not inflated the last time we were here cos it was raining then. We couldnt wait to get our hands (and feet and body and butts) on it!

Can u see how tiny i am compared to the huge pirate ship?

Kara and i loved climbing up

and literally throwing ourselves off at the top, tumbling headlong down the slide, squealing and screaming with glee

Here's baby, the scardey cat, afraid of going down the tall slide

WUSS!!

Hot and sweaty after all our exertions

Mummy: My little cassanova trying to solicit for the attention of a cherubic ang moh girl

Mummy also took us to Katong Mall where they had 2 enormous bouncy castles in the atrium. She only had to pay $10 for us to have unlimited play!
We were more than happy to be left there while she indulged in some retail therapy at Parkway Parade nearby.

Wah!!! Kids' nirvana!!!

Yoohoo! Can anyone spot me?

Mummy: This clip is hilarious. Terelle was merrily riding the unicorn until she fell off and ended up with a wedgie

Terelle really cracked me up with all her madcap antics

Phew! Lemme take a break before i go back in to jump!

Hai yak hai yak! Lemme pit my kungfu skills against Pikachu!

Listening intently to a big jie jie telling stories

Baby Bone always getting tripped by us, hehe!

We also brought out our trusty little skates and had some blading action on one of the days of the hols!

We're becoming quite pro at this now!

Cheers to a fun filled and exciting sept break!

Teacher's Day Outing

Today is Teachers' Day and Jie Jie is on holiday, so Mummy decided to take us to Polliwogs to check it out.

I dove straight into the ball pit

My favourite part of any playground!

Jie Jie unleashed and rolling all over the place

and making friends with all the ang moh kids!

I was throughly enjoying myself but alas, Mummy said i had a make up class to go to

I had fun at class nontheless, and even chatted up this cute little girl! (who happened to be the daughter of mummy's childhood friend)

Today's lesson is about frogs

And here i am trying to imitate one!

My 1st week at school!

Im finally starting school!

Actually its like playschool, cos its more fun to me than anything else!

Snack time - being a kaypoh and watching another kid spill his snacks all over the floor

Mummy: Check out those rosy cheeks, still fresh from our Sydney escapade...haha...

Outta my way! Daredevil racer on the loose!

Im really enjoying my snacks!

More mobile action!

Ive finally overcome my phobia of sand!

Sydney Day 6

It is our last day in Sydney, and as usual we headed to the Rocks Market before leaving for the airport

Fresh and full of energy at the start

Sorry kids, these books are cheaper back home!

Shopping for pretty gifts

And cute trinkets

Our stylo mylo Mummy and Yiyi

It was a nice warm day and great to be out!

Are we going in yet another aisle?

This is so BORING! *mega pout*

Awwww man, are we done yet???

Ok ok time to break for lunch

We had lunch at a german restaurant with Uncle Jason and while the adults feasted on lotsa german favourites (like the yummy pork knuckle), us kids entertained ourselves with the free balloons and coloring sheets.

Uncle Jason - Daddy and Mummy's long time friend, whom we get to see only occasionally

We were all very happy with the family friendly restaurant!

Soon it was time for goodbyes again

Uncle Jason promised to teach me all his tricks on how to woo girls and his awesome skincare regime when i grew up! Haha

At the airport, Daddy had to fly off to Brisbane for yet another biz trip while we were homeward bound.

Mummy pissed with Daddy's short fuse as usual

Another 7 hr flight home and we were both absolute angels!

The only challenge was Mummy having to lug 2 sleepy and cranky kids, 2 strollers and one big luggage home after we disembarked at close to midnight!
