Hong Kong here we come!

It was a bright and sunny morning and everyone was in high spirits, as we sped down the expressway to the airport, now only 10min away!

Im all set to go to Hong Kong! Have no fear, the frequent flyer is here!

After a hearty lunch, baby bone and i proceeded to wreck havoc on the plane.

It was a harrowing ride for Mummy and Daddy, since now they had to deal with 2 monkeys in the plane!! Ha!

We were pooped after creating all that ruckus on board, so we promptly fell asleep while the adults boarded the Airport Express into the city. They were impressed that it was so fast, clean and convenient!

Finally we met up with our travel buddies, the Liews, at the hotel, cos they took a much earlier flight into Hong Kong. Boy was i glad to see my best friend, Kara! Ok! We've recharged our batteries and are all ready to hit the streets!

1st stop, a yummy chinese dinner at a famous restaurant in Central called Lok Yu. While the adults tucked into an assortment of succulent meats, us gals were content to feast on our noodles!

The adults foolishly tried to do some shopping with us in tow. Not surprisingly, we started to act up cos we were tired from the flight into HK. After much whining and protesting, they decided they had had enough and bundled us back to the hotel.

Baby Bone and I were out for the count soon after and Mummy and Daddy took the chance to sneak out for some late night shopping and pigging out!

[Mummy taking over the narration] We were told that shops at Mongkok closed at midnight so we quickly decided to take the MTR there. We did make good time now, since there were no kids to slow us down, practically running through the long and winding paths in the station in our haste to get at the shops.

Boy were we not disappointed!

The streets were a hive of activity as we braved the throngs of people and made our way to SinoCity, a "hole in the wall" mall with numerous tiny shops selling clothes, accessories, knick knacks and shoes.

Ooh the shoes, they deserve a special mention altogether. Rows and rows of exquisite visions in canvas, leather, suede; adorned with lace, sequins, ribbons, diamantes, charms...and all at prices that made me just wanna buy 8 pairs at one go in any one shop and then quickly descend on the next to feast my eyes on yet another array of gorgeous creations.

Just as there are leg-men, breast-men or 'as-long-as-its-a woman' men, women are categorised as bag-gals, dress-gals, accessories-gals or shoes-gals.
Im definitely a shoe gal.
Or an Imelda. ( My sister can relate to this)

I can never walk past a shoe shop without slidling in to take a look.
I get an adrenaline rush at shoe SALES.
I have new pairs of shoes hidden away cos i cant bear to wear them. (Sorry if you're reading this hubby, you wont be able to find them anyway...)

Hubby shook his head in disbelief and rolled his eyes in bewilderment as I commented that i wished I had more feet to wear more shoes. Maybe like 8 legs like an octopus? 8 legs for 4 pairs of shoes at one go! Ooh what bliss!

Hubby left me to wander around in dizzyexcitement as he left in search of kick knacks, with a dire warning not to buy more than 2 pairs of shoes on this trip. 2 pairs??! @#$%^&*(

Supper was heavenly after the claustrophobic confines of the tiny mall

Washed down by some delicious dessert!

Back to catch some last minute bargains before the shops closed!

(Look ive already bought a pair of shoes!! The other x no of pairs are on their way home via Fedex...hehe...)

Day 2 Sunday 1st March 2009

Terelle:Ok its back to me narrating!

The view from our service apartment in the morning

We were staying halfway up the Peak so the views were quite spectacular, especially at night!

OK we're ready to hit the streets of HK!

We took a scenic ferry ride to Tsim Tsha Tsui and then Yau Ma Tei for brunch. It was a chilly morning with a hint of rain but no matter,

we had each other to keep warm!

Daddy and Do-Re-Mi, Fa was sleeping soundly in Aunty Evon's arms

Baby Bone getting all excited by the waves

The swashbuckling trio

Yet another great pic for the album!

Baby Bone was tired out by the time we reached the restaurant so while all of us stuffed our faces again with dim sum, he slept blissfully in Mummy's arms.

and drooled all over her sleeve!

And while the Mummys were busy dealing with tears, spats and trantrums, and us needing to pee and poo, the Daddys and Gong Gong were busy playing with their food!

We headed over to Mongkok again to look around the shops in the day. Alas our Mummys were sorely disappointed as they couldnt get any shopping done! We hate shopping!! We'd much rather sit down and devour some desserts!

Daddy bought a replica Tag Heur watch though, looked very much like the real 9k watch! He was very proud of it, and kept flaunting it while we were having dessert

Hey Baby Bone, get your own! This is MINE!

*Gulp* Slurp* AHA! None left for you

Finally our Mummys decided they had had enough of us (with the exception of Baby Bone who refused to stay with Daddy so Mummy had no choice but to take him with her) and left us with our Daddys and Gong Gong, and scuttled off to the nearest market to hunt for good buys. The men promptly plonked themselves down in the nearest eatery and started to whallop bowls of steaming noodles.

Here I am, eating my "cant-remember-how-many" th meal of the day

It's a bird, it's a plane!

No it's Ryan, the Really Useful Engine! *mummy singgering*

After about an hour and a half of boisterous rioting in the crampy little restaurant, the disgruntled waiters and customers decided they had enough of ear splitting shrieks and threw us venemous stares, full of potent meaning. Feeling embarassed, the men quickly hustled us out of the shop, all the while making frantic calls to the mummys to tell them to hurry out.

I guess our mummys were so engrossed shopping that they didnt hear their fones ringing till much later. By then the Daddys' patience had worn thin...oops, we decided that we had better tone down our ruckus as we were threading on very thin ice. Hehe...

Finally our whole entourage regrouped at the MTR station where our Mummys got some ear bashing from the irate Daddys. They didnt look too perturbed though, hmmm...the wonders what some shopping can do! (Mummy wasnt very happy though, cos she had to deal with a wriggly Baby Bone in the market and didnt get to shop much again)

The adults were exhausted and hauled us all back to the hotel so they could get some rest.

We staged a lion dance for the benefit of everyone! Cheer up guys! We dont mean to tire all of you out so!

Our parents unceremoniously dumped us in the hotel room again and scooted off for yet more shopping and supper.

Mummy: We went back to Mongkok as i wanted to trawl through the market we went to in the afternoon, since i didnt get a proper look around. Alas, they were closing when we reached so we just wandered around the shops by the streets.

We grabbed a couple of good bargains at Ladies Market as the stalls were all closing. Managed to slash prices to 30% of the original selling price! Happy with our purchases, we proceeded to have supper again! How can we say we have truly visited HK without eating all the time rite?

Day 3 Monday 2nd March 2009

Mummy: This is the sight that greeted me when i awoke in the morning!

Drawing on the condensation lining the bay windows

Thane and his blanket, just like his sister

Its times like this when im glad we had a 2nd child and that the kids now have each other for company!

Terelle: OK my turn again!

We took the mini bus into town again. All of us kids loved the ride cos it was like a roller coaster! There were loud squeals, shrieks and yells from all of us whenever it made hairpin turns at high speed all the way down the undulating hill!

Baby loving the "thrill ride" too!

After a hearty brunch of noodles and rice, the adults did a bit more shopping at Tsim Tsah Tsui again, and then...

...we were all bundled up into the minivan and off to...

DISNEYLAND! Look they even gave us little rings shaped like Mickey's ears!

Baby Bone fascinated by his little ring!

After checking in, we had a short rest in our adjoining rooms.

*prod prod* Ben!! Wake up and play with me!

Kara and I had an important job to do. We had to plan our rides in the park carefully and not miss a single one!

And we were off again! Taking the train out to Tung Choi for more shopping and dinner!

Daddy getting exasperated cos we were fighting over who gets to shimmy up the pole 1st

Ok all smiles again!

Baby trying on a silly hat in one of the factory outlet shops

And then it was time to go back to the resort

That's us in the Disney train!

Looking forlornly at the entrance to the Happiest Place on Earth

We'll be back tomorrow!!!

Day 4 Tuesday 3rd March 2009

We had a lovely buffet breakfast in the Enchanted Gardens this morning! Mickey, Daisy, pluto and Goofy came to join us!

Kara and I sharing our breakfast with Daisy!

Even my waffles were in the shape of Mickey!

Mickey kept nuzzling Baby bone, to his great consternation...haha...

A little spat again on theway to the Park?

And then we were finally in the Happiest Place on Earth!!

1st ride of the day - Pooh Bear's Honey Pot!

Then Cinderella's carousel

Dumbo ride, which we went on over and over again since there were no queues

Mummy and the boys outside the Kodak 3d theatre

And us donning the 3D glasses!

Even Baby had a pair!

After the extremely entertaining 3D show, it was time to take pictures with our favourite cartoon characters!

Baby's favourite is defintely Pooh Bear!

We found Minnie! During breakfast this morning, Mickey told us she wasnt around because she was busy putting on makeup!

Next up was some giddy, whirly fun in the Spinning Teacups!

After 5 consecutive rides, we declared that this ride deserved a thumbs-up from us!

More rides! This time it was the famed "Its a Small Small World" boat ride!

Stop posing with me Mummy! Im trying to see all the colorful figurines!

Flying away in a spaceship in Tomorrowland

And then driving off into the sunset!

Daddy and Uncle Caleb went back to the hotel to grab some food for us so we could stay in the Park to catch the fireworks. Unfortunately, once the fireworks started, Kara and I both fell asleep. Too much excitement during the day! All was not lost though, Baby Bone ooh and aahed throughout the entire performance!

While all of us trooped back to the hotel to wash up, Mummy and Daddy volunteered to go to Tung Choi to grab dinner and tomorrow's breakfast for everyone.

Come on Daddy, is looking after the bunch of us really THAT tiring??!!

Day 5 Wednesday 4th March 2009

After breakfast, Uncle Caleb brought Kara and I on a walk around the hotel grounds. And along the way we met some princesses! What a treat!

Who's the fairest of them all?

Making our way through the maze shaped like mickey's head

Let's go Kara, only halfway more up the stairs!

Since our flights only left in the evening, we headed to the Park again for some last minute action.

At the spectacular Lion King Extravaganza

[Sibling rivalry in full action, Baby Bone and I fighting over the last packet of raisins]

Of course we cant go home without taking another ride in Pooh's honeypot

And our favourite - Small small world!

While our Daddys went back to the hotel to check out, we took another few more rides on Dumbo and finally headed back to the entrance of the Park via the rustic choo choo train!

All aboard!
We parted ways from the Liews then, cos they were taking a later flight back to Singapore. Us kids had a blast on this trip, i dunno about the adults though! hehe...till the next one!!

We finally have windows!!!!!

For the uninformed, we have been living in our house since Jan without windows, all because of a stupid permit that HDB refuses to grant. The reason being since we levelled up the balcony floor, due to safety concerns, the parapet wall is now too low.

After much to-ing and fro-ing between HDB and BCA (Building and construction authority) and much, much frustration on Mummy and Daddy's part, (us kids are oblivious...when it rains, we even get a mini swimming pool to jump around in, who cares about the window??!), the windows finally finally arrived, one day before we were off to Hong Kong.

Workers removing the remnants of the old balcony grille

Grille all off!

Assembling the aluminium frame

Ooh...one frame is up!

And we are all agog, watching from the staircase landing!

Haha...

My new house

Lemme take you on a foto tour of my new house!

The dining room - now our old dining table looks so small in the big space

The stairs and the foto "gallery" on the landing

Mummy's glam kitchen with its bling bling mosiac

Our magnetic wall which also serves as the kitchen door - One of Mummy's bright ideas to keep us out of the kitchen

Our retro swing which we absolutely love

Ps: All the fotos were taken by little old me! Not bad rite?

And we invited my april friends over for a house warming today.

Look! The swing is big enough to fit me and my best gal pals!

And as usual, the mummys have to watch us kids...

...while the daddys stuff their faces!

I shall take fotos of the upper floor soon...stay tuned!

CNY 09

Cny is always a simple affair in our family, cos our family is very small and we only have a handful of relatives to visit.

Goofing around with Daddy while Mummy and Baby Bone were still sleeping

Happy Moo Moo year everyone!

Both of us in our new snazzy outfits on our way to Mama's house

Mummy loves my cheongsam - its so pretty and she got it for a steal!

After visiting Mama, we headed to her cousin's place for awhile before meeting the rest of Mummy's side of the family at Tai Por's house.

That's the entire family we have, small rite?

Me and my favourite YiYi, hmmm actually its my ONLY YiYi!

Baby Bone looking so smart in his spanking new get up

The 2nd day of new year was spent at Niki's house where we had a whale of a time playing together and catching up. I really miss Niki!

Baby Bone was snoozing away at Mama's house so no pics of him. No matter...I didnt miss him one bit cos we were playing girly games anyway! Hehe...

Starting at a new school

After scounting around many schools in the East and much much deliberation, Mummy decided to enrol me in a church kindy. Her reasons being:

1) She wants Jesus to take centerstage in my life.

2) This is a Chinese school, where 80% of the curriculum is done in Mandarin. She believes this will be beneficial to me as we hardly speak Mandarin at home.

3) She was actually considering putting me in Kara's school, but after much thinking, she decided against it because she was afraid that i would "corrupt" Kara with my mischievous ways and cause her to lose focus in her work.

4) The fees here are way way cheaper than a Montessori school, like the one that ive been attending. If i were to study at this new school, Mummy will be able to use the excess money to sign me up for some nifty new enrichment classes. (My Kungfu class, remember ok Mummy?)

5) The school has a 40 year old history and is a very well established kindergarten. Mummy has met the teachers and principals and declared that they are v ery caring and will do their best for me. The classrooms are spacious, the surroundings clean and they have a huge playground and even PE lessons. (Sports is very important in our family)

6) And lastly, a very frivolous reason. Mummy thinks the uniform is really nice and i look very cute in it!

That's me in my smart new uniform

Dont you agree i look very cute?

okie one last mouthful of my breakfast before im off!

Mummy was very impressed with me cos i hardly cried even though i was in new surroundings. I gamely participated in everything, oblivious that she was hiding outside and peeking at me.

Listening to Ma Lao Shi's instructions

Singing and dancing

All in all, Mummy is very glad she has decided on this school and I am very happy here. All thanks be to God for steering her in this right direction!
