My maiden zoo trip

We went to the zoo today! The weather was glorious, the company was fabulous..it was a blast!
We had to split up into 2 groups to tour the zoo though, as our group was too big. I had the honour of having the only 2 boys in our group as my bodyguards...lucky me...heehee...

Hey Aaron! *pat pat* Dont sleep, we just started!!

Yeah come closer, come closer...i wont bite...

Fred wants to hold my hand!! Wait Aaron jealous how?

Ok lah, quick one...he's drinking his milk and not looking!

After walking around for awhile, the adults stopped for some drinks and snacks. We babies had something to eat too!

Yes? Who called? Kaypoh Terelle is ever ready to survey the scene!

Hmmm...Now who is the baby animal on display?

It was super hot so Daddy and Mummy let me have some ice cream for the 1st time. I couldnt get enough of it! Yummy!!

Hey no feeding the animals!

Gimme more! Cant u see im sweltering!!

I saw so many animals today! Iit was so interesting that i didnt take my afternoon nap. I didnt want to miss out on anything!

Taking a breather with Aunty Elaine and Jie Jie Glenda...

All too soon, we completed our walk around the zoo and retreated into the aircon comfort of KFC. Aaron and I were pretty amused by Uncle KS's antics while Fred took a nice nap.

Uncle KS is so funny!

Aaron: Hey you guys are all bullies...Hmph!

The day was complete with a sumptious seafood dinner at Bottletree Village for the adults. Us babes had to entertain ourselves while our parents stuffed their faces with crabs, prawns and all the other things we still cannot eat...

Cheers to a super fun day and looking forward to more outings with my little friends!

All of us with our handsome daddies...

...and our beautiful mummies!

My treasure chest

Daddy got me this new treasure chest to learn how to be neat and tidy by putting away all my toys. I didnt want to comply with his wishes so i hid in it, hoping that they would not find me.

Quick quick i gota close the lid so they cant find me!

Shucks its too heavy for me to lift!

Wah so many toys outside, hmmm...i might as well just continue playing!

Hey ive already put them all in a row! That's good enough!

My Gym

I recently started attending My Gym, cos Daddy and Mummy want me to train up my little muscles and meet more friends! They were pretty surprised by some of my reactions to the activities there though.

I was terrified on the high rope! I screamed and cried when the kind (and cute!) instructor tried to make me swing on it.

I yelled my lungs out on the swing too, while Mummy had a good time laughing at me...hmph! I think i suffer from vertigo....*faint*

Still grumpy on another swing...no, the cute cartoony face on the swing does not help!

Stop laughing Mummy, please let me out.....

Aaron being in the same swing as me calmed me down a little...

But i did enjoy some of the other activities there. I was ok on the balancing, swirly thingy...

Hey Mummy! Why aren't u paying attention to me??

...and i could balance pretty well on the little rocking canoe...

...I loved being in the ball pit...

...and it was great fun going round and round in this spinning contraption with my cousin, Lendall!

Oops someone fell down! Kaypoh Terelle is right at the scene!

Are u ok Aaron?

There was a Separation Time where the parents had to leave us babes alone with the instructors. I was ok for awhile cos i was happily playing with my friends in the ball pit and forgot all about Mummy and Daddy.

Lemme go Mummy!! I wanna join my friends!!

Oh no! Where are u Mummy? How come im all alone here? boohoo!!!!

Nature vs Nuture

Frankly I am sick and tired of people slamming their opinions down on me, proclaiming that I am anti-social and unfriendly, and condemming me to having a hard time fitting in in the future. This barrage of accusations stems from the fact that i scream bloody murder whenever someone else, other than Mummy or Daddy, try to pick me up. I mean, what is so wrong about that? Do you go around welcoming any Tom, Dick or Harry with open arms when they come up to you and try to hug or kiss you? No rite? You'll probably go "molest!" or "brokeback mountain!!" or simply "siao ah?!". Same goes for me, I am just protecting myself and I am proud to say that I already have keen discerning powers at a tender age of 11mths.

My detractors shake their heads and go "tsk tsk" when I get all flustered and wail whenever Mummy disappears from my sight. Hey, Im responsible for Mummy's wellbeing just as she is responsible for mine! Anything can happen to her if she disappears and is all alone! She could have fallen over or tripped and poked her eye on a rock on the floor, or scalded herself with hot water or jammed her fingers in the electric socket or ate something yucky off
the floor...the nightmares are endless! So why can't I let out wails of pure frustration because I have yet to learn the intricacies of transportation, that I can troop off to look for her and save her from a certain disaster?

These cynics keep telling Mummy that she should bring me out more often, so that I can get used to strangers and not be so insecure. Me??? Insecure? Let me emphasize that I am the most secure little person on this earth. All my needs are met and my Mummy and Daddy are always around if I need them, and yet they give me enough space to grow and assert my independence. And I do get to go out ALOT...What more can a baby ask for?

I have friends who have certain personality traits that is declared wrong or bad by the general public. Some of them are reserved, boisterous, fussy, temperamental, timid; in fact my own cousin embodies a few of these traits. I watch him get chastised week after week because of these outward expressions of frustration. Hey give the guy a break! He may just have strong opinions about his wants and may perceive things in a different way but has not deconstructed the mind-boggling language of the adults to tell them his desires!
And wasnt Beethoven temperamental too? How come no one slings HIM with mud?

I agree that certain undesirable character traits have to be nutured, like being a brat, rudeness or being uncaring. But let's not change what nature has intended us to be, let us develop our personalities as we are meant to develop. Perhaps I will shun strangers all my life, perhaps I wont. Im proud of being me and I know so are Mummy and Daddy. So there!
