Sydney Yet Again - Day 1

Daddy was going to Sydney again for work and since there was a HFMD and H1N1 outbreak in my school, Mummy decided to let me skip school for an entire week so that we could follow Daddy Down Under!

This is Baby Bone's 1st proper trip to Sydney, the last time we were there, he was still in Mummy's tummy!

Daddy flew off the night before (cos he didnt want his colleagues to know that we were bunking in with him) and we got up bright and early the next morning to catch our flight.

Are u kidding me, Mummy? Why am I all bundled up in this 33deg heat??

Mummy was apprehensive about the 7hr flight, cos she didnt think baby could behave himself and not act up in the confined space.

She needn't have worried! He as an absolute angel - he didnt cry nor fuss at all, ate all his food, played with the free toys, entertained himself by exploring every single part of his seat...

...and of course, was mesmerised by the cartoons

We soon arrived in Sydney in high spirits - that didnt seem like a 7hr plane ride!

After a nice warm bath, it was time to hit the sack.

OOps mummy, i think im too big for the cot now...

Mummy: And so Terelle proceeded to squeeze with us on the bed and kicked, punched, elbowed and basically bashed us up incessantly the next 5 nights...

Science Experiment

Daddy gave us a science lesson on plants today.

First you have to put soil into the pots

Baby bone: *scratching head*

why are you taking so long daddy? it cant be that difficult rite?

And then we were given some seeds to plant

Grow plants, grow!

But going by Daddy and Mummy's obvious lack of green fingers, i really doubt these seeds are going to make it...

Sigh...Gardening is not a Leong forte...

Of horses and heights...

It's singapore's birthday today!

All of us woke up bright and early and headed down to the Saddle Club for some breakfast, after having heard rave reviews about the place.

Enjoying the sun out on the verandah...and watching the horses

Let's see...i want this, and this, and this!

We loved the rustic decor of the place

And the food did not disappoint!

Thumbs up for good latte whose foam can support a spoon

Delicious yoghurt with muesli and topped with an assortment of fruits

And buttery pancakes, so fluffy they seemed to melt in your mouth

Wah! what a spread!

Me, the glutton of the family, will leave no morsel uneaten!

And i shall pick up the scraps!

Round 2: Yum yum chomp chomp gobble gobble

We worked off all that food by dancing around the cafe, to the amusement of the other diners

To our delight, our outing wasnt over yet! After the nice breakfast, we headed over to Haborfront to take a cable car ride, since tickets were on 50% off due to it being national day!

Woohoo, what a treat!

This being Baby Bone's 1st real experience sitting in the cable car (the other time doesnt count cos he was such a wee babe, and didnt understand anything), he was kinda petrified at the height and clung onto us for dear life.

Ahhhh Aunty dont let me go!!

Im afraid of water but i aint afraid of heights! SO THERE!

Errr okay...maybe standing up is not so scary after all...

But no way are u going to get me to look ourside!!

Daddy sweltering in the heat but gritting his teeth and bearing it, for our sakes!

Finally, towards the end of our ride Baby Bone became brave enough to look out of the cabin.

Hey this is actually pretty interesting!

Huh?? wat d'ya mean we have to get off now???

Woohoo! Long weekend!

Sorry extremely long time since we last posted....
Anyway this was what we got up to during the long weekend, not the one that just passed, but the National Day long weekend.
Haha...way way overdue huh...

After what seemed like an eternity, we finally reached the Rainforest Kidz World.

As usual, Baby Bone needed no coaxing to go into the water.

I needed a BIT more time to warm up.

Aargh! I dont want the water in my eyes!

After much frolicking in the water and a nice spot of KFC lunch, it was time to head home.

And look what we saw on our way out?!

A squished snake! Complete with blood oozing out of its mouth!

Gross...but it sure fascinated the hell out of us...

We spent a good 5min just staring at it, all agape!

Thursday Playdates

It is becoming an almost weekly affair, whereby we will all troop over to Kirsten and Seth's house on Thursday for a playdate.

Seth is the only friend of Baby Bone's that he recognizes and Mummy hopes that they will grow up to be good friends, just like Kirsten and I!

I miss the good ol days when i could just run over to Kirsten's house to play whenever i wanted.

Now we only get to meet just once a week, sometimes forthnightly or when either or us kids are sick, maybe only once a month! *sob*

Reading in Mandarin

Mummy has been reinforcing all that ive been learning in school. Imagine her surprise when one fine day, i actually read an entire book by myself!

She is particularly chuffed cos just half a year ago, i spoke almost no mandarin, let alone read in mandarin. Looks like its really a good idea to send me to a chinese school!

Here is my grand feat!

Mummy: I think it seems easier for Terelle to learn mandarin words, cos she has a good memory and chinese characters are essentially pictures to be memorised. She still needs lots of help with sounding out english words using phonics though...

Nevertheless, keep up the good work baby! Mummy's so proud of u!

The incredible shrinking carseat

Err Mummy? U sure this is my carseat? Im too big for it!

Hee...but its still pretty comfy though...

Whoa! Jie Jie is even more of a giant!

This carseat has served us well, it has cushioned the bums of 4 kids!

Alas, its time is up and Mummy is going to sell it away. May it continue cushioning the bum of another lucky baby!

Huffing and Puffing

Ive learnt a nifty little skill! It involves the passing of air out of my mouth!

I can even whistle, salute and march alongside Jie Jie!
